Leisa creates custom, meaningful artworks that reflect your story, space, and spirit. Leisa's intuition and signature process ensures the final piece speaks to you — whether it’s a bold statement, a quiet presence, or something deeply personal.

Working primarily in oils, watercolours, and expressive mark-making, Leisa approaches art not simply as a finished product, but as a reflective process and intimate storytelling — one that embraces presence over perfection and connection over performance.

Commissioned artwork is a deeply personal and purposeful collaboration — this process is an opportunity to bring a unique story, feeling, or space to life through hand crafted art. No two commissions are alike, and I approach each one with love, intuition, and deep respect for the trust you place in me.

Each piece includes a short written story of its inspiration and the song or playlist that accompanied its creation.

The Process

  • Getting Started

    Each commission begins with an in-person meeting (or detailed video if distance is a factor). I listen to your story and vision to learn and explore the unique aspects and ideas you'd like the work to carry.

  • Factors To Consider

    Factors considered, but not limited to are: what feeling or experience are we hoping to capture, family stories, inspiration collected, location, lighting, brand elements to honour, installation barriers, line of sight, viewer's point of view, desired colour palette(s), textures, visual elements that are must-haves or to be considered, colours/elements to strictly avoid, timelines, budgeting etc.

  • Check-Ins

    A follow up meeting will be agreed upon at which time Leisa will present a final colour palette and a select group of visual elements that will act as a beacon for the project. You will be informed via video at one or two mid-way points in the process at Leisa's discretion.

  • Time Frame

    Commissions require a minimum of 4 weeks to complete. If created using oils, the artwork will require three to four weeks drying time before packaging for in-person delivery or shipping.

  • Investment

    The investment for your custom artwork begins at $1500 plus applicable taxes, and is determined by medium used, sizing, complexities etc. A 70% deposit is required to secure the commission and commence the project. Framing is not generally included unless agreed upon.

  • Respecting The Work

    The commissioned artwork created for you cannot be reproduced or resold in any other format without the written consent of Leisa Marie (Johnson) and may be subject to additional reproduction fees. Leisa will never reproduce your commissioned artwork for sale in other establishments.
